Robert P. Hastings

Robert P. Hastings, 54, of Allentown, died on March 20, 2014, in his home.

He and his wife,Cindy S. (Schell) Hastings, celebrated 28 years of marriage.

Born in Peckville, he was the son of Mary Ann (Tomaskovic) Hastings of Peckville and the late James J. Hastings.

A graduate of Valley View High School and Lycoming College with a degree in accounting, he was the assistant controller at Muhlenberg College, and previously was the controller in the Bethlehem Division of Howmet Corp. and was an accountant at several local CPA firms.

He was an active member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, having served as a trustee, usher, member of the stewardship committee and a mentor for catechism.

An avid fly fisherman and basketball player, he previously coached basketball for the SPYA.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by sons, Christopher H. and Andrew J.; brothers James of Miami, Fla. and Paul of Bangkok, Thailand; and sister Maureen Dietrich of Reading.

A Celebration of Resurrection will take place at 1 p.m. March 29, at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus.

The family will receive friends following the service.
