Margaret E. Halko, 89, of the village of Egypt in Whitehall Township, died March 19, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of the late John J. Halko.
Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Barna) Forensky.
She was a graduate of Lehigh Township High School, Bethlehem Business School and the Allentown Comptometer School.
She worked at Lehigh Wholesale Grocery Company, Allentown, from which she retired in 1980. She worked previously for various Lehigh Valley companies including Horlacher Brewery, Allentown. She and her late husband owned and operated H&S Distributing Company, in the village of Egypt in Whitehall Township, for 12 years.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall.
She is survived by a son, John S. of Whitehall, with whom she resided; and a sister, Dorothy and her husband Eugene Ressler of Walnutport.
She was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Litwin.
