EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Candy bingo at HST March 28
Harry S Truman's PTO is sponsoring, "Candy Bingo Night" 6 to 8 p.m. March 28 at the school. The winners walk away with a sweet prize– candy. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win a gift card. Hot dogs, soft pretzels, nachos and drinks will be available to purchase.
March 27 will be T-shirt day at HST.
The spring concert will be held 7 p.m. April 1 with first and second grade students featured.
HST invites parents and guardians to join their first grade students for lunch April 7.
Parent teacher conferences for HST and Western Salisbury Elementary schools' kindergarten classes are scheduled April 9 to 15. Parent teacher conferences for students in first through fifth grades will be held April 10 through 15.
Both elementary schools will have 1 p.m. early dismissal April 10, 11, 14, 15 and 16.
On April 17, HST and WSE will dismiss students 11 a.m. Salisbury High School will have early dismissal 12:15 p.m. April 16 and 10: 15 a.m. April 17.
PSSA testing for students in third through eighth grades for math and reading begins March 24 and ends April 4.
Individuals with intentions to solicit in Salisbury Township must first purchase a peddling and soliciting permit from the township. Permits are available at the Salisbury Township Municipal Building located at 2900 S. Pike Ave., Allentown. Applicants need to apply in person and provide two forms of identification. There is an application fee. Municipal building hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. After the completed permit is reviewed by the police department, it must be picked up and carried by the individual during times of solicitation. Upon request, the solicitor is obligated to produce the permit. Residents with questions or concerns in reference to a local solicitor may contact the police department at 610-797-1447.
Salisbury Township's Spring 2014 curbside branch collection program starts April 14 and will run through April 18. Branches must be no longer than 5 feet long and 5 inches in diameter. Residents must place their branches at the curb after 6 p.m. Sunday. The township requests branches be bundled and tied together. Open containers with no lids may be used for small branches.

The zoning hearing board will not meet for the month of April, as no zoning appeals were filed for the month.

Free mulch and compost is available to township residents. Please bring and fill your own buckets. Quantities are limited. The mulch and compost can be picked up at Franko Drop Off Center and Devonshire Drop Off Center.
Salisbury Township municipal offices will be closed in observation of Good Friday April 18.
