Robert A. Feichtl
Robert A. Feichtl, 79, formerly of Whitehall and Breinigsville, died March 12, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was the widower of Lois J. (Rohrbach) Feichtl.
Born in Whitehall, he was a son of the late Adolph and Sophia (Weslock) Feichtl.
He graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education and a Master's degree in education and counseling and from Lehigh University, he earned a Master's of Education degree in elementary education.
His first job out of high school was for Mack Trucks Inc.
He then worked as an elementary school teacher for both Parkland and Whitehall school districts.
During that time, he worked summers at Wolfe Dye and Bleach, and at Dorney Park.
He worked for Muhlenberg School District as a school counselor before retiring in 1996.
After retiring, he worked for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, retiring from there in 2003.
He was a staff sergeant in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
A member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, he also was a member of the Trexlertown Grange 1755 and the Pennsylvania State Grange, the Pennsylvania State Educators Association and the Knights of Columbus.
He was a leader of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 72, having both his sons become Eagle Scouts.
His survivors include sons Kenneth R. and wife, Brenda, of Centreville, Va., Douglas J. and wife, Wendy of Harrisburg; brothers, William and Joseph; sisters Marie DalMaso, Josie Hozza, Dorothy Reimer and Kathleen Pompa; seven grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Keith J.
