John Francis Zavecz, 91, of Bethlehem, died March 9, 2014. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna (Libricz) Zavecz. He was the husband of Cecelia (Diskanetz) Zavecz for 71 years.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was an electrician at and retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Elaine and Kathleen, both of Bethlehem; a son, James and his wife Suzanne of Shreveport, La.; and a granddaughter, Rachel.
