According to Lehigh County First Deputy Coroner Eric D. Minnich, a 47-year-old North Whitehall woman was killed March 12 near 5836 Route 873, Washington Township, when she was struck by a motor vehicle.

According to State Police Troop M Bethlehem, Donald Vito, 54, of Lehighton, was southbound on Route 873 when his vehicle crossed over the northbound lane at 11:44 a.m. and struck Angela Pope, who was jogging on the northbound shoulder.

Pope, of 5570 Stephanie Drive, was pronounced dead by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner David Krause at 12:27 p.m.

An autopsy was scheduled for March 13 to determine her cause of death.

This crash remains under investigation, police say.
