Frigid, snowy weather has forced Liberty High School's tennis team indoors for the preseason, playing at Winning Touch in Allentown, two or three times a week.
"Friday, we're supposed to have a match with Saucon Valley at Liberty, but the courts will never be ready. With the concrete walls, it doesn't get sun there," Liberty tennis coach, Leo Schnalzer, said last Friday.
In the middle of challenge matches as of Press deadlines, competing for singles spots are seniors, Brendan Cunningham and Chris Katcsos, and sophomores, Milind Jagota and Jesse Claudio. Daniel Lynn, a freshman, also looks strong.
Twins, Alex and Evan Burlew, who are juniors, may be a doubles team, and freshman, Luke Conrad, may also have a doubles spot.
"We have to kind of wait and see. Hopefully, by the end of the week, I'll have a better idea. It's supposed to be really cold on Thursday and really cold on Friday, especially playing outside," said Schnalzer.
