Bethlehem Catholic's boys and girls track and field team should have about 90 competitors for the 2014 season, according to head coach, Gary Mohylsky.
Returning sprinters will include Freddie Simmons, Michael McDaniel, Donovan West, Antoinne Keenan, DJ Finneran, Katie Altpeter, Megan Tucker,, Lauren Bosch, and Brie Baughman.
Distance runners will include John Donchez, Sean Moroney, Michael Duffy, John Spirk, Andrew Schaeffer, Kassi Yocco, and Rowan Pepe.
Throwers will include Kyle Bembrook, David Donchez, Ryan Johnson, Mike Italliani, Teresa Taglang Tessa Zamolyi, and Erin Schmidt.
"The boy throwers are lifting weights and the others are using the street and parking lots. Kids are really resilient, so they do what they have to do," mohylsky said. "Overall, the boys should be off to a slow start and by the end of the year be very competitive. The girls will be above average, and we'll still be getting some girls basketball players."
Track and field season is scheduled to begin March 24.
