Joan M. Laudenslager

Joan M. Laudenslager, 80, of Allentown, formerly of South Allentown and Breinigsville, died March 10, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She and her husband Richard C. Laudenslager celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last Aug. 27.

Born April 5, 1933, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William S. Sr. and Grace A. (O'Donnell) Janotka.

She was a secretary and receptionist at KidsPeace, Fountain Hill, before retiring.

Prior to that, she worked at the former Traub's Market, South Allentown, and for the United Fund.

She was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Trexlertown, the former Golden Hearts Club and a volunteer at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, William S. of Allentown; daughters, Nancy L., wife of Lee J. Edmiston Jr. of Zionsville, Rita A., wife of Dr. Richard B. Perkins of Staatsburg, N.Y.; stepson, Richard C. Laudenslager of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren Samantha L. and Gregory R. Edmiston, Richard B. and Jack B. Perkins.

She was predeceased by siblings, Josephine C. Galizanski and William S. Janotka, Jr.

A Eucharistic Celebration will be 11 a.m. March 14, at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown, with the Rev. Canon Michael F. Piovane, Ed.D. officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 10-11 a.m. Friday in the church narthex.

Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
