Douglas R. Paules, 84, of Allentown, died Feb. 20, 2014. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mabel (Laudenslager) Paules. He was the husband of the late Irene (Bloszinsky) Paules.
He was a graduate of William Allen High School.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in World War II.
He owned and operated Empire Engineering and was a long-standing member of the Emmaus Masonic Lodge #792 and Emmaus Optimist Club.
He is survived by children, Diane and her husband Dan Ross, Ruth and her husband Donald McIntyre, Sally and her husband Brian O'Donnell, Mark and his wife Michele; grandchildren, Kristi Remington, Heidi Burgess, Kaitlin and Harrison McIntyre, Evan and Carter Paules, and Hailey O'Donnell; three great-grandsons, Jackson, Liam and Andrew; sister, Francis and her husband David Stout.
