A Catasauqua resident is displaced from his home as a result of a fire last Tuesday.
Mikhail Anitpas of 549 Bethlehem Road escaped from his home and called 911 at 7:44 p.m.
Catasauqua, North Catasauqua and Greenawalds fire departments responded to the call.
Flames were coming through the roof when they arrived.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames for an hour, according to Catasauqua Fire Chief Richard Hertzog.
They remained on the scene until after midnight.
Neither the homeowner nor any firefighters were injured as a result of the fire.
Hertzog told The Press Friday that borough Fire Marshal Ray Anthony had ruled the fire accidental.
"Careless cooking," Hertzog said.
The house is located on the corner of Bethlehem Road and 12th Street in a neighborhood local residents call North Catty.
Hertzog said the homeowner lived there alone. But he will not be there anytime soon.
"It's uninhabitable," Hertzog said of the ranch home. "There's no roof on it."
