Carl D. Yoder

Carl D. Yoder, 80, of Fullerton, died Feb.11, 2014, in Sacred Heart Hospital. He was the husband of Arlene E. (Kahn) Yoder for 58 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John K. and Marie F. (Minnich ) Yoder.

He was a 1950 graduate of Allentown High School.

He was in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean conflict.

He was a member of the 1st Infantry, Normandy, honor guard which escorted the eternal flame.

He was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post No. 367.

He was a maintenance and construction supervisor for UGI for 43 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a faithful member of St. John's U.C.C. Fullerton, where he sang on the Chancel Choir for more than 25 years.

He was a scoutmaster for Troop No. 63 at the church and was the chairman of district training and program committees.

He received numerous awards including the Silver Beaver, four Wood Badge beads and the vigil honor Order of the Arrow.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Gordan A. and life partner Diana Schreiber of Kempton; Dale A. and his wife Laura of Lebanon; and Samuel A. and his wife Adele of Nazareth; a brother Robert K. of Utah and seven grandchildren.

He was predeceased by son Daniel R. in 2008 and sister Jean D. Shoemaker.
