George J. Niederberger, Sr., 90, of Emmaus, died March 1, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Mildred M. (Garber) Niederberger. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George W. and Clara M. (Koenig) Niederberger.

He was employed by Getty Oil Co. for 43 years until retiring.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

He is survived by his wife; son, George J., Jr.; sisters, Joan Giandonato and Carol Martz; brother, Richard. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lee Ann in 2006; sisters, Shirley Ringer and Claire.

Services 10 a.m. March 5 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
