State police

Cause of explosion determined

A Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal has ruled the cause of an explosion as accidental in nature due to a liquid propane gas leak, according to a state police report. The incident occurred Feb. 14 at 118 Hickory Hills Drive, Moore Township. William Neith, 65, was killed in the explosion.

Retail theft

State police reported an incident of retail theft at the Sams Club, 901 Airport Center Drive, Hanover Township, Jan. 10. Police say Kevin R. Reinert entered the store and stole six DVDs and a bottle of water. Charges for retail theft were filed in Magisterial District Court 31-1-05. Police say Reinert was charged with two other counts of retail theft that had occurred at the same location on two separate dates.

Theft of firearm

A female reported her purse stolen from Carmike Movie Theater, 1700 Catasauqua Road, Hanover Township, Jan. 24, according to police. The purse contained an all-black Kel-Tec model p3AT firearm. It was taken sometime between 6:30 and 11:30 p.m. Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact them at 610-861-2026.

Report of criminal mischief

Police are investigating a criminal mischief which occurred Jan. 31 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1900 Pennsylvania Ave., Hanover Township. According to a police report, someone broke a rear stairwell window at the church. Commercial

vehicle accident

Police reported a crash involving two commercial vehicles Feb. 6. The crash occurred, police say, when the driver of a 2004 Kenworth truck, Guchain Singh, was traveling west on Lloyd Street. At the same time, a driver of a 2010 Chevrolet HHR, James Wyckoff, was stopped on North Irving Street at its intersection with Lloyd Street. According to officers, Singh failed to stop at the stop sign located on Lloyd and North Irving Streets and struck Wyckoff while attempting to make a right turn onto North Irving Street. Police say Singh was cited with stop signs and yield signs violations.

Theft from

a motor vehicle

Police responded to a theft from a motor vehicle Feb. 7 at Sam's Club parking lot, 901 Airport Center Drive, Hanover Township. Unknown actors entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a Sumsung Galaxy 3 cellphone, according to police records. Hit and run

Police responded to report of a hit-and-run Feb. 10 on Route 22 Westbound on mile marker 321. According to police, the crash occurred when the driver of a 1996 Chevrolet S10, Brian Snyder, rear ended a Lexus. According to police, after the collision occurred the drivers made sure neither had an injury and the driver of the Lexus got back into his vehicle and left the scene.
