Spring Garden: needs your vote

Freedom Club Fundraiser ends Feb. 28
Sicily Pizza, 4460 Easton Ave., is sponsoring the Freedom High School Patriot Swimming and Diving team fundraiser. Mention sponsoring the team when ordering through Feb. 28 will generate a 15 per cent donation to the FHS team.
Booster Club: Raffle tickets offered
FHS Baseball Booster Club is selling raffle tickets to win brand new Play Station 4 game set. All proceeds benefit the Freedom High School Baseball team and will go into field improvements for the 2014 season. Middle schools: Video voting this week
After many hours of hard work by teachers (Jane Carr from Broughal and Rachel Shook from Northeast) and students involved in the "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" video competition, the time is near for the online voting. Becahi: Bingo fundraiser March 2
Becahi's band is hosting a designer purse bingo Sunday, March 2 at 2pm in the school gym. Bingo will feature 15 games and five special games for gorgeous designer bag prizes. Nitschmann: Books needed
Check your bookshelves! Nitschmann Middle School will be kicking off a "Share the Love of Reading" book drive to benefit the Cops 'n' Kids Children's Literacy Program. From now through Feb. 28, donations of gently used and new books will be collected and counted by the sixth grade READ 180 classes. Collection bins will be available in classrooms and outside the school lobby at Nitschmann. Share the love, share a book! For additional info contact Mrs. Dugan at ddugan@bethsd.org.

Northeast: Students organize blood drive
Two sixth grade students at Northeast are working on a Leadership Project. They are sponsoring a blood drive for Miller-Keystone Blood Center. Freedom: Softball clinic March 15
A softball clinic sponsored by the FHS softball team and open to players of all skill levels. Is set for Saturday, March 15, at the FHS Auxiliary Gym and field. BASD: THON set for April 26
Freedom and Liberty High Schools THON fundraiser for pediatric cancer will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 26 in Freedom's main gym. BASD's second annual Mini-THON will feature entertainment and diverse activities for 12 hours straight while "dancers" stay on their feet for the entire event.
Monies raised will go to Penn State's main THON charity, the Four Diamonds Fund at Hershey Medical Center, which directly assists families who have children with cancer and their cost of treatment / medical bills.
