Police arrested two men in seperate incidents of alcohol-involved driving within minutes the early morning of Feb. 16.
Around 2:27 a.m. police arrested 26-year-old Matthew Weaver, of Farmersville Road in Easton, following an alleged hit-and-run near the Steel Ice Center on East First Street.
Weaver is charged with speeding, accidents involving property and DUI.
About five minutes later police arrested 22-year-old Roger Franklin, of Sonny Drive in Wind Gap in the 500 block of Center Street.
Police allegedly deetermined Franklin to be intoxicated during a traffic stop, and he is charged with speeding, driving without insurance and DUI.
Then, around 6 a.m., an officer said he was almost sruck head-on while he was in his vehicle at a stoplight. The driver of the oncoming vehicle had come up the wrong way on a one-way street. Having avoided a crash, the driver then reversed and halted, blocking the road completley.
Rickie Sapp, 55, of Bradley Street, was pulled over on West Broad Street and is charged with careless driving and DUI.
