Roof collapses
Coplay Police and the borough fire department responded Feb. 14 to the collapse of a garage roof at the rear of 129 South Second St.
There was no one in the garage when the roof collapsed, police said.
Tailgate stolen
Frank Keppel of the 100 block of Maple Street reported to police Feb. 16 that someone overnight stole the tailgate of his 2001 F-150 pickup truck. The vehicle was parked at Keppel's residence.
The tailgate is valued at $200.
Fire reported
Police and the borough department responded to a fire 9:12 p.m. Feb.12 at the Giant Food, Cherry and Chestnut, streets.
On arrival, it was determined the fire was contained in a wall socket in the deli area.
Firefighters handled the fire accordingly.
Roof collapses
Coplay Police were notified by Coplay Saengerbund President Kevin Fritz that its pavilion roof on South Fifth Street collapsed overnight due to snow Feb. 21. Police said the pavilion was not in use at the time. Borough Code Enforcement Officer Ron Hellman was informed and met with club officers.
Motor vehicle
accident
Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 100 block of Oak Street involving a school bus Feb. 20. Donald Dreisbach, of Whitehall, was the operator of a Whitehall-Coplay School District bus that struck the mirror of a parked vehicle. There were no students on the bus. The school bus did not incur any damage, according to police.
Tailgate stolen
Allen Himmelwright, Coplay, reported to police on Feb. 17 that the tailgate and tail light assembly from his 1999 Dodge pickup truck was removed and stolen. The vehicle was parked in the 100 block of South Second Street when the incident took place, police reported.
