Marietta "Marty" Krause, (nee Calvert), 80, of Allentown, died Feb. 17, 2014, following a courageous four and a half year battle with ovarian cancer, in the VNA Hospice of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Twp., surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Krause for 55 years. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen (Lynn) Calvert.
She was a 1951 graduate of William Allen High School and a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
She had a successful career in advertising at WKAP radio as well as a radio show called "Rock and Roll Party with Bob and Marty." She was a buyer for Hess Brothers Department Store. She also worked with her pharmacist husband at Dorneyville Pharmacy.
She was an active volunteer for Western Salisbury Elementary School and served as PTA president for consecutive terms. She was a dedicated volunteer and fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, "Elvis," reading, and most of all, family gatherings.
She is survived by daughters, Lynn A. and her husband Thomas J. Jacoby, of Salisbury Township, Lori Jo and her husband Glen Rassler, of Emmaus, Lisa Beth, of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Patrick T. and Tara L. Jacoby, Colin T. Strawn. She was predeceased by brothers, John "Jack," Thomas, Lindberg, and Robert Calvert; sisters, Rhea Dittrich and Emily Myers.
