Joan E. Dixon, 74, of Bethlehem, died Feb. 2, 2014, after a long illness with C.O.P.D. Born in Chester, she was a daughter of the late John and Kathryn (Cotter) Murphy. She was the wife of Daniel Dixon Jr. for 48 years.

She was a 1958 graduate of Chester High School.

She belonged to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fountain Hill.

She was previously on the ways and means committees for both Nitchmann Middle School and Liberty High School marching bands and for her son's Boy Scout troop. She was a former member of both the Boulevard Ladies and Planets Bowling Leagues. She was a member of the Lehigh Valley Flyers Fan Club.

She is survived by a son, Daniel R. of Allentown.
