Edmund W. "Sonny" Reiss, 84, of Macungie, died Jan. 28, 2014, at home. He was the husband of the late Elma Lou (Angstadt) Reiss who died in 2009. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edmund T. and Irene (Heard) Reiss.

He was a specifications writer at Mack Trucks for 39 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Solomon's United Church of Christ, Macungie.

He belonged to Local 677 UAW union and for many years volunteered at the Macungie Ambulance Corps.

He is is survived by sons, Edmund N. and his wife Stephanie, of Mertztown; Ronald B. and his wife Martha, of Fogelsville; daughter, Barbara K. and her husband Gery Toman, of Mertztown; sister, Dolores Fenstermaker, of Kutztown; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard.
