Josh Burke's book, "Strike Three, You're Dead," has been nominated for an Edgar for Best Juvenile Fiction. The award ceremony will be held May 1 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, New York City.
His first book for young adults, "The Dark Days of Hamburger Halpin," was named a best book for teens by Kirkus Reviews and Amazon.com. It was awarded a Parent's Choice Silver medal, a starred review from School Library Journal and a perfect 10 from Voice of Youth Advocates magazine.
Resident authors landscaping book
Charles P. Mazza, resident of Hanover Township in Northampton County, has written a book, "Site Assessment for Better Gardens and Landscapes." He is a former faculty member in the Department of Horticulture and education director at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
Mazza said he has seen many hurried decisions in landscaping.
"Without taking into account the characteristics of the property, the design and maintenance of any landscape is a risk," he said.
