Edna V. Borger, 93, of Northampton, died Feb. 1, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus. She was the wife of the late Norman J. Borger Sr.
Born in Leck Kill, Northumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Nora (Beisel) Mattern.
She was a 1939 graduate of the former Pine Park High School and a 1946 graduate of the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a registered nurse at Allentown General Hospital, retiring in 1985.
Previously, she worked for the late Dr. Dryer, M.D., Allentown for several years.
She was a member of the Harmony Grange No.1692 and the Allentown Hospital Retired Nurses Association.
She was a charter member of the Theo Burr Covered Bridge Society, Kreidersville.
She is survived by three sons, Norman J. Jr. of Nesquehoning, Eric T. and his wife Susan and Ned A. and his wife Audrey, all of Northampton; four grandchildren, Nora, Allyson, Sarah and Aaron; one great–grandson, Connolly; four step grandchildren; five step great–grandchildren; two sisters, Nelma Snyder of Pitman, Schuylkill County, and Dolores Ulmer of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister–in-law, Lena Mattern of Leck Kill; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by granddaughter Michaela in 1995, two sisters and three brothers.
