FHS boys, girls split meet

Freedom's boys swimming team defeated Easton 106-77 last Thursday, but the Patriot girls fell to the Red Rovers, 93-90.

Both Patriot teams opened the meet with victories in the 200 medley relay.

Carly DelFranco, Kelly Kopko, Helen Hsu, and Shannon Howell placed first in 1:53.32, and Peter Conzola, Trevor Watlington, Connor Harrigan, and Shjon Watlington placed first in 1:47.27.

In individual events, Hsu won the 200 free in 1:56.60, and Sam Magnan won the same event in 1:51.20. DelFranco took first place in the 200 IM in 2:17.47, and Harrigan outtouched Easton's Sean Riddle in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.89.

Hsu and Conzola also won the 100 butterfly, Hsu in 57.46 and Conzola in 57.96.

Shjon Watlington placed first in the 100 free.

Two more Patriots, Howell and Magnan, took first in the 500 free. Howell's time was 5:21.65, and Magnan's time was 4:55.02.

DelFranco and Conzola won the 100 backstroke in 1:01.03 and 56.19, respectively, and Trevor Watlington won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.37.

In relays, Howell, DelFranco, Rachael Giles, and Hsu took first place in the 200 free relay in 1:42.24, and Conzola, Shjon Watlington, Harrigan, and Magnan won the 400 free relay in 3:37.49.
