Dale R. Bortz, 77, of Macungie, died Jan. 29, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia E. (Fry) Bortz, with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage. Born in Wescosville, he was the son of the late Richard and Marie (Keiser) Bortz.

He worked for Mack Trucks in the computer department for 43 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown.

He honorably served his country in the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his wife; son, Dr. Dale R., Jr. and his wife Regina, of Mountaintop; brother, Douglas, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; grandchildren, Dr. Brandon James and Christina Elizabeth.
