Carole E. Pennebacker, 84, of Zionsville, died Jan. 22, 2014, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of Abraham D. Pennebacker. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Leo and Kathryn (Lazarus) Yerby.
She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zionsville and was a graduate of Emmaus High School.
She was an avid bridge player, traveled extensively to the Western U.S., Alaska and Europe, and was a member of the Emmaus Women's Club.
She is survived by her husband; sons Daniel and his wife Michelle, of Zionsville, and David and his wife Debra, of Benton; daughter, Anne and her husband Keith Kahlbaugh, of York; brother, Robert Yerby, of Sun City, Calif.; grandchildren, Beth Patten, Danny, and Caroline Klidonas; great-grandchildren, Harrison and Christabel Patten.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 201, Philadelphia, 19106.
A memorial service will be held noon Feb. 9, Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
