Edward J. Dzema, 74, from Whitehall, died Jan. 19, 2014, at home.
Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Kolcun) Dzema.
He and his wife Sylvia A. (Kovaleski) Dzema were married 52 years.
He was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown.
A 1957 graduate of the former Edwardsville High School, he attended Scranton University and received his Bachelor of Science of the Arts degree from Kutztown University.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired after 38 years with the Allentown School District as an art teacher at Trexler Middle School.
He then became an over-the-road truck driver for various companies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Tracey Marie Sparks and husband, Todd, of Harleysville, Kelly Ann Zeiner and husband, Robert, of Whitehall; sons Edward John Jr. and wife, Michelle, of Virginia, and Thomas Adam and wife, Nancy, of Allentown; sister Mary Ann (Gall) Volkel and husband, Larry; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was predeceased by a sister, Martha Valyo and brother Lt. John, who was killed while serving his country.
