Helen B. Deutsch, 86, of Allentown, died on Jan. 15, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She and her husband Stephen J. Deutsch would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Jan. 20.

Born in Lynn Township, she was a daughter of the late Stanley W.J. and Minnie M. (Burkhardt) Billig.

A 1945 graduate of Slatington High School, she later attended business school

She was a vacuum tube assembler for the former Western Electric Co., Allentown, from 1950-67.

A member of Faith Lutheran Church, Whitehall, she was a former assistant Girl Scout leader in Whitehall.

From 1979 to 2008, she raised and trained 31 Seeing Eye dogs through the Lehigh County 4-H Seeing Eye Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael S. of North-ampton and a brother, Stanley Billig of New Tripoli.

She was predeceased by a daughter Roberta H. and siblings Mary Leiby and Elmer and Nevin Billig.
