Eugene W. Nefak, 84, of Allentown, died Jan. 15, 2014, in the Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, Allentown.

He was the husband of Catherine (Legenza) Nefak.

Born in Olyphant, he was a son of the late John and Julia (Novajosky) Nefak.

APennsylvania State Trooper for 35 years, he retired in 1988.

He was an Army veteran having served in the Korean War.

A member of Jordan Athletic Club, he was a life member of both American Legion 576 and VFW Post 2124, all in Allentown.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Robin Nefak and Kathryn, wife of Dr. Thomas Brandecker; brother William; sister Patricia Vergoni; and grandchildren Alexander and Alison Brandecker.
