Fireworks damage

Karen Grady, 463 Hopewell Drive, Upper Macungie, reported to police 10 a.m. Jan. 1 her mailbox was damaged after some type of fireworks were ignited inside.
Attempted burglary
at home
Police say 54-year-old man and 53-year-old woman reported an attempted burglary to their home 3:45 a.m. Jan. 2 in the 8800 block of Brookdale Road, Upper Macungie Township.
The couple told police they were sleeping in their bedroom when they heard someone cutting the screen to the window and saw a man approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall, wearing a dark hoody flee the scene.
Emmaus Police Department responded and assisted with a K-9 unit.
The area was searched but the man was not found.
Catalytic converters
reported stolen
David Bennett reported to polcie catalytic converters were stolen from four vehicles sometime between 11 a.m. Dec. 26, 2013 and 5:30 a.m. Jan. 2 while they were parked at Hannabery HVAC, 200 Schantz Road.
In a separate incident, Andy Heist reported catalytic converters were stolen from 10 vehicles sometime between noon Dec. 31, 2013 and 7 a.m. Jan. 2 while parked at Communication Systems Inc., 4670 Schantz Road.
Police respond
to 911 hang up
Upper Macungie Township police responded 6:30 p.m. Jan. 2 for a 911 hang up call in the 9900 block of Dietrich Road.
Police allege a domestic situation had occurred between Maria Urban, 51, and a 54-year-old man, who had several bleeding scratches on the right side of his face.
Urban, who allegedly was intoxicated, was taken into custody for domestic violence-related simple assault and harassment.
Charges are pending with District Judge Michael Faulkner, Upper Macungie Township.
