Retail theft
Reported at Hobby Lobby, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, a woman took a shopping cart full of items valued at $111.87 without paying for the merchandise, 3:27 p.m. Dec. 24, 2013. The investigation continues.
Marly Joseph, 23, of Bethlehem, was taken into custody and cited for retail theft after she allegedly tried to leave Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, without paying for $89 worth of items, 10 p.m. Jan. 6. Loss Prevention personnel stopped Joseph and she was transported to Lehigh County Booking Center. A non-traffic citation was issued to Joseph.
Jason Zemba, 35, of Hellertown, was arrested for retail theft after he allegedly attempted to remove 24 trading cards with a total value of $328.52 from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:50 p.m. Jan. 7. Zemba allegedly was detained by Loss Prevention personnel and later transported to Lehigh County Prison for processing and arraignment.
Ashley Lynn Everett, of Orefield, Shelby Nicole Seidel, of New Tripoli, and Nicholas Taylor Roeder, of Kunkletown, were charged with retail theft after they allegedly removed items for sale from different areas of Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:37 p.m. Dec. 18. Everett, Seidel and Roeder allegedly hid merchandise on their persons and tried to leave the store without paying for the merchandise.
DUI
Jared S. Smith, of Pennsburg, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after police checked a vehicle on State Street at Harrison Street, Emmaus borough, 12:06 a.m. Jan. 5. Smith allegedly showed signs of impairment at the time. Charges are pending.
Tara Hicks, 43, of Emmaus, was arrested for driving under the influence after she allegedly struck three parked empty vehicles near 3911 Main Road West, Upper Milford Township, 8:17 p.m. Jan. 8. Charges were filed in District Court 31-3-03.
Theft from motor vehicle
Reported at the Wyndham Wingate Hotel, 4325 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, between 12:01 a.m. and 7:49 a.m. Jan. 3, unknown actors broke windows on two separate vehicles and removed multiple items before fleeing the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Reported in the 2900 block of Aronimink Place and the 2800 block of Whitemarsh Place, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors entered unlocked vehicles and broke into a vehicle between 9 p.m. Dec. 19, 2013 and 4 a.m. Dec. 20, 2013. Theft
Reported by a 29-year-old Allentown woman at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, two actors, described as black males, 16-18 years old, took her purse from her shopping cart, fled the store and were seen getting into an older model black Saturn sedan, 5:52 p.m. Jan. 9. One of the men was described as wearing dark jeans and a dark jacket. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylcania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Access Device Fraud
Reported in the 8000 block of Winchester Lane, Lower Macungie Township, by a 45-year-old woman, an unknown actor used the woman's debit card to make multiple purchases online Jan. 6. The total value of the purchases came to $1,614.22.
Criminal mischief
Reported in the 2300 block of Slivano Drive, Lower Macungie Township, three eggs were thrown at an exterior window 2 a.m. Dec. 29, 2013. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Reported in the 2300 block of Aberdeen Way, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors placed and ignited a paper bag containing feces on a front porch 7:25 p.m. Dec. 28, 2013. Members of the state police and Lower Macungie fire department responded to the home and the fire department put out the fire. The investigation continues. Reported in the 6400 block of Carmel Drive, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors threw eggs at residence 10:13 p.m. Jan. 11. The actors fled the area in an unknown direction.
False identification to law enforcement
Francisco Ihelefeld, 34, of the 300 block of North 16th Street, Allentown, was charged with providing false identification to police and driving while suspended after police stopped Ihelefeld for allegedly driving with no insurance 2:07 p.m. Dec. 31, 2013. Investigation by police revealed Ihelefeld's driver's license allegedly was suspended, he lied about his identity and he had outstanding arrest warrants from Pennsylvania State Police in Bethlehem and Allentown City police.
