The Apollo Grill is marking its 15th anniversary by taking its charitable community support to a whole new level of giving. Owners Rod and Dyanne Holt and Patty and Tucker Lyons will celebrate with "Fifteen days of Giving" throughout the month of February. Fifteen area charitable organizations have been selected from amongst nearly 80 that applied to benefit from the special initiative.

Individual sponsors have been lined up to back the Apollo Grill's efforts by pledging $1,500 or $1,000 to the organizations as well. Additional sponsorships are available by contacting the Apollo Grill at 610-865-9600.

Each charity will have a dedicated night at the Apollo Grill where supporters and the public can dine, enjoy a drink or dessert of the day, enter a drawing for a free dinner, and show their support for their favorite local cause. A percentage of the proceeds from dinners, drinks and desserts will be donated to each organization. The schedule will be announced once it has been finalized.

Since the Apollo Grill opened in 1999, over $200,000 has been donated to charity. Co-owner Dyanne Holt said the motivation for "Fifteen Days of Giving" came from a desire to expand the business' fundraising tradition in a fashion that would recognize the anniversary.

"We are so thankful to our community and wanted to celebrate our 15th anniversary with a month long celebration that would benefit fifteen charities," Holt said.

Charities selected to participate are: Pa. Youth Theater, Wildlands Conservancy, Valley Youth House-Project Child, State Theatre, Meals on Wheels-Northampton County, The CoCo Foundation, Moravian Archives and the Moravian Historical Society, Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cribs for Kids, Camelot for Children, Center for Vision Loss, Boys and Girls Club of Bethlehem, Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley, National Museum of Industrial History, Pinebrook Family Services, and the Visiting Nurses Association of St. Luke's.
