Little has changed for the Allen Township board of supervisors for the 2014-15 session.
Dale Hassler and Larry Oberly took their seats as newly elected members of the supervisors at the Jan. 6 meeting. Hassler and Oberly are familiar faces in the township. Hassler previously served as township fire chief and Oberly on the zoning hearing board and member of the fire company.
Also during the meeting, Paul Balliet, long time township supervisor, was unanimously selected to serve as chairman of the five member board, followed by the selection of Supervisor Bruce Frack as vice chairman.
Attorney B. Lincoln Treadwell remains aboard as township solicitor. Hanover Engineering, represented by Brien Kocher, will remain as township engineer. Nick Lalik, township fire chief, also retains his position.
John Demyan was appointed Emergency Management Coordinator, with Frack casting the dissenting vote. Frack said he has no issue with Demyan's qualifications, but wanted to review his resume before voting on the appointment.
Ilene Eckhart will continue her duties as township manager. She will also serve as zoning and code enforcement officer with Walter Diefenderfer.
Supervisor Al Pierce will serve as the board's representative on the Nazareth Congress of Governments. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney is the township's trustee for its pension fund. Beyer-Barber serves as the actuary and advisor of the pension fund.
