William H. Bogert, Sr., 90, of Coopersburg, died Jan. 9, 2014, surrounded by his family at the Hospice House of VNA of St. Luke's, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Mae E. (Kemp) Bogert. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Albert and Stella (Bittenbender) Bogert.
He was an active member of Chestnut Hill United Church of Christ where he volunteered his time in various positions in the church and Sunday school.
He was a Naval Veteran, giving 33 years of total combined service in active and reserve duty, spanning World War II and the Korean War.
He was a construction electrician for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 42 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a lifetime member of the Lower Milford Fire Company and was a graduate of Allentown High School.
He is survived by sons, William H., Jr. and his wife Faith, of Quakertown, and Jeffrey A. and his wife Rebecca, of Allentown; grandchildren, Jason and his wife Kristin, Josh, Corey and his wife Jennifer, and Nicole and her husband Robert; great-grandchildren, Neva, Gabe, Carter, Caylie and Cassandra; and companion, Gloria Weller.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 15 Chestnut Hill U.C.C., 6870 Chestnut Hill Church Rd., Coopersburg. Viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 15 in the church. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
