Robert T. Henninger, 88, of Mac-ungie, died Jan. 10, 2014, in his home. He was the husband of Fay D. (Wagaman) Henninger for the past 58 years. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Herman E. and Mary E. (Hawk) Henninger George.
He graduated from Allentown High School, class of 1943.
He was a switchman for Bell of PA for 31 years.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Congregational Church, Emmaus.
He was well-known for his love of table tennis, having received several awards.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy as a signalman.
He is survived by his wife; son, Mark and his wife Roberta; daughters, Carol and her husband Jim Clader and Mary B. Smith; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Alice and a brother, Ellsworth.
Contributions may be made to the church or Lehigh Valley Hospice.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 18 at St. Matthew's E.C. Church, Emmaus. A time to greet the family will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
