Raymond B. Hammersten, Jr., 70, of Emmaus, formerly of Easton, died Dec. 31, 2013, in Easton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Madeline (Piazza) Hammersten. Born in Bangor, he was the son of the late Raymond B., Sr. and Ann P. (Myers) Hammersten.

He was a union electrician for local IBEW 102, retiring in 2002.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the American Legion Post 739, Hokendauqua.

He is survived by three children, Michelle L. and her husband Rick Arechiga, of Emmaus, Eugene W. Cope and his wife Brenda, of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Karen and her husband Michael Sawyer, of Easton; five grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jim and Larry.
