Kenneth D. Wesser, 81, of Carlisle and formerly of Allentown, died Jan. 7, 2014. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Luther and Mabel Wesser.

He received his Bachelor of Science in 1954 from Kutztown, a Master of Arts in 1961 from Columbia University and did doctoral work at Lehigh and Temple universities.

He had been a teacher for the East Penn School District for 38 years and was a past president of the East Penn Education Association.

While living in Allentown he had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he had been an elder, deacon, Sunday school superintendent and council member.

He is survived by many friends.
