EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Key Club collecting used cell phones
Salisbury High School's Key Club has chosen to give back to military personnel, by partnering with Operation Gratitude. The club members are collecting used cell phones for soldiers.
Operation Gratitude sends over 100,000 care packages to veterans, first responders, wounded soldiers, caregivers and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas. These bundles are filled with snacks, entertainment items, handmade gifts and personal letters of appreciation. The group's mission is to lift the spirits of active duty soldiers and veteran military personnel by meeting their needs.
Another goal for the group is to provide volunteer opportunities for all Americans to express their thanks to members of our military. Every donated package of goods, costs the organization $15 to assemble and ship. The organization has sent over one million care packages since its start in 2003.
To donate used cell phones, contact Katie Rossetti at krossetti@stsd.org. Donated phones will be refurbished and/or sold for parts. The money raised will be used to make care packages to send to our soldiers. For additional information contact Operation Gratitude at http://www.operationgratitude.com.
