Bethlehem Catholic's girls basketball team prevailed in a double overtime victory over Allentown Central Catholic, 79-74, last Tuesday night at Rockne Hall.
On a night when most games were postponed due to sub zero temperatures, Becahi's Kalista Walters turned up the heat on the Vikettes, scoring 42 points in the Hawks win.
Although Becahi led for most of the game, the Central outscored the Hawks in the fourth quarter, 18-11. It was Walters, however, who tied the game in the end, forcing the first overtime.
The Becahi junior went on to score eight points in the first overtime and nine in the second.
Also scoring for the Hawks were Maggie Melhem with 12 points, Nia Mims with nine points, and Janelle Robinson with eight.
Both Becahi and Central were undefeated going into the Tuesday night contest.
Also last week, the Hawks defeated Northampton, 58-42.
Liberty scored two victories, defeating Allen, 54-18, and Stroudsburg, 43-36.
Freedom split, defeating Allen, 47-34, and losing to Nazareth, 45-24.
