AnnaMae (Schafer) Wieder, 92, of Macungie, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Jan. 6, 2014. She was a resident of Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Willard D. "Lefty" Wieder. Born in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late William H. Schafer and Sophia (Krantz) Schafer.

She graduated from the Allentown School of Nursing in 1943 and worked in the operating room at Allentown General Hospital. She also worked in the offices of Dr. Backenstoe and Dr. Kratzer in Emmaus. She retired in 1964 but never forgot her nursing skills while being a loving mother to her four boys. She was active with VIA of the Lehigh Valley and ARC of Lehigh Valley.

She raised her family to enjoy the world of camping and was a member of Family Motor Coach Association.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie.

She is survived by sons, David W. and his wife Rev. Kathryn A., of Allentown, Thomas R. and his wife Pamela, of Emmaus, Paul A., of Danielsville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Mark A. and his wife, RaeAnn (Stichter).
