Sylvia L. Kressley, 72, of Allentown, died Jan. 1, 2014, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

She and her husband, Melvin H. Kressley, celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary last November.

Born July 21, 1941, in Catasauqua, she was the daughter of the late John and Marion (Young) Howells.

She was a custodian in the Catasauqua School District from 1974-02.

An avid painter, she was a member of the Pocono Painters, Keystone Decorative Painters Chapter and Lehigh Decorative Painters.

She was of the Lutheran faith.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Robin M. Walker and her husband Robert, of East Stroudsburg, TeriLynn Holderman and her husband Herman of Coplay; sons Delroy S. Seip Jr. and his wife Kimberly, of Schnecksville, David M. Seip and his wife Lori, of Coplay; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; siblings William Howells of Tennessee, Ernest Howells and wife Nina of Kentucky and Virginia Lamm of Michigan.
