Stella A. Stoss

Stella A. Stoss, 97, of Allentown, formerly of Whitehall, died Jan. 4, 2014, in Westminster Village, Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Harold O. Stoss.

Born in Stiles, she was the daughter of the late Emrich and Mary (Lachnor) Schreiner.

A member of St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, Fullerton, she was a member of the women of St. Elizabeth and St. Elizabeth Golden Agers.

She was a member of Whitehall Senior Citizens.

She was one of the founding members, along with her parents, of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Fogelsville, when Masses were held in her parents' home.

She was employed at the former Penn State Mills, Allentown.

A Sunday School teacher at Dubbs Memorial United Church of Christ, Allentown for 30 years, she did the baking for Dubbs Church for 40 years.

Her survivors include a daughter, Maryann Wolf of Allentown; grandchildren Kim, wife of John Leatherman, Ken Stoss and James Wolf; great-grandchildren Jonathan Stoss and Ethan Stoss and Nicholas Wolf; and great-great-grandson Xavier Stoss.

She was predeceased by a son Harold F. Stoss Jr. and a great-great-granddaughter Gabriella Stoss.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Jan. 9, at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall.

Calling is 9-10 a.m. Thursday in the church.

Contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth R.C. Church or to Dubbs Memorial UCC, 457 Allen St. Allentown, PA 18102.
