The Bel Canto Children's Chorus will be holding auditions for its upcoming 2014 spring session at Nativity Lutheran Church, 4004 W. Tilghman St., Allentown.

Interested singers are invited to participate in rehearsals scheduled for Jan. 13, 20 or 27, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Auditions will be held following rehearsal. Any child in grades 2-8 (boys and girls) is invited to audition.

Bel Canto expanded in the fall of 2013 with prep and intermediate choirs rehearsing at Nativity Lutheran in Allentown on Monday evenings. This is a new addition to their prep and intermediate choirs rehearsing in Trappe and the Concert Choir that meets on Thursday evenings in Red Hill.

The Bel Canto Children's Chorus was founded by Dr. Joy Hirokawa in 1993 and she continues to serve as the organization's artistic director. Dr. Hirokawa also directs the Concert Choir, while the Allentown prep and intermediate choirs are directed by Ms. Stacy Hageman.

If your child loves to sing and is looking for a place to make friends with other children who share his or her love of music, Bel Canto may be the place for them. Children in the chorus learn to perform music in a wide range of styles from the classic to modern periods singing in languages such as German, French and Italian.
