Gerald K. Heck, 73, of Macungie, died Jan. 3, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit with his family at his side. He was the husband of Joanne T. (Moser) Heck. They were married for 51 years on June 16. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Frederick K. and Evelyn N. (Hansen) Heck.
A graduate of Allentown High School and Allentown Business School, he was an office and payroll clerk for Mack Trucks, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Emmaus, and the United Auto Workers Union Local 677.
He was stationed in Europe with the U.S. Air Force in the late 1950s.
He was a dedicated and loving grandfather who enjoyed coin collecting and model railroading.
He is survived by his wife; son, Matthew M. and his wife Joy; daughter, Michelle J. and her husband Robert Powell, all of Macungie; brother, Donald and his wife, Eleanor; sister, Lorraine and her husband Paul Kratz, all of Allentown; grandsons, Neil, Thomas, and Timothy Powell, Kyle and Kenneth; godchild, Christine Lindenmuth; nieces, Donna and her husband Dean Poling, Carol and her husband Henry Worman, Diane and her husband Chris Puskas, and Sandra and her husband Robert Wichie; nephews, Paul Kratz Jr. and his wife Sally, and Ronald Moser and his wife Judy. He was predeceased by a son, Michael G. in 2002.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 8 in St. John's Church, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus. A calling hour will begin 10 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breinigsville.
