Friends of the Allentown Parks presents the first Allentown Winterfest, noon - 5 p.m. Feb. 8.

Featured are horse and carriage rides along Lake Muhlenberg in Cedar Beach Park and along the Rose Garden, ski and snowboard demonstrations presented by Bear Creek Mountain Resort & Conference Center, wine-tasting, competitive snowman-snow sculpture building contests, ice sculpture, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, human dog sled race, bonfire, and food.

In addition, Bear Creek Mountain Resort and Burton Snowboards will offer Allentown's first "Riglet Park," in which children ages 3 to 6 are introduced to snowboarding in a fun, safe, playground-like setting.
