The Ontelaunee Park master plan was discussed at the Lynn Township supervisors Dec. 12, 2013, meeting. Contact will be made with the Brown Design to update the current plan.

Brown will contact other groups interested in the park for their input.

The board accepted a quote from Brown not to exceed $6,222.50 for this project.

In other matters, Roadmaster Bruce Raber gave his monthly road report to the board.

The crew was trimming trees on Borman, Ulrich Mill and part of Blue Mountain House Roads.

They erected the speed limit signs, cleaned storm inlets, installed markers and plowed snow. They will continue trimming trees in the future weeks.

The budget for the 2014 calendar year was passed with a figure of $2,552,080.

A speed limit of 35 mph was set on Lentz Road and Long Court while Old Orchard Court, Koch Court and Halpin Road speed was set at 25 mph.

The Sanctuary at Haffsville was appointed to take care of stray animals at a maximum cost of $650 for the year.

Frank Seifried presented a petition to the board concerning the use of "Jake" brakes on Kings Highway, between Jacksonville and Wanamakers.

He is petitioning to have signs erected banning this practice in this area.

The Jake brake system is used on tractor trailers to slow down the vehicle on long downhill stretches. It is a very effective system but its main drawback is the noise it causes.

He told the board he could not get any satisfaction from state Rep, Gary Day, R-187th, or from PennDOT, and would like the township to help him with the issue.

Township Secretary Tammy White was instructed to send a letter to PennDOT on this subject to see what could be done.
