Around 9:30 a.m. Dec. 24, 2013, firefighters respond to a chimney fire at 1105 Loxley Lane. Before firefighters arrived, the homeowner used a chimney flare to keep the fire in check. Once crews from Eastern and Western Salisbury fire departments arrived, they checked the chimney and surrounding area for fire spread. The burning contents were removed from the stove and fans cleared smoke from the house.
