DUI

Irving Edwards, Bronx, NY, was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after he was stopped in a sobriety checkpoint on Route 222 at Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:36 a.m. Dec. 8. Charges were filed through District Court 31-3-02.

Jason Michael Moore, 18, of Orefield, was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after he was stopped for an alleged traffic violation on the Route 222 bypass at Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1:21 a.m. Dec. 8. Charges will be filed in District Court 31-3-02.

Theft

Reported at a residence in the 3400 block of Sherman Drive, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors entered the master bedroom at the home and removed multiple pieces of jewelry between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Reported by Grace Industries, Fredonia, driver's side window of an excavator smashed and a shovel taken while the excavator was parked on Ruth Lane between Spring Creek Road and Smith Lane, Lower Macungie Township, overnight Dec. 10.

Theft from a motor vehicle

Reported in the 2800 block of Whitemarsh Place, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors took items from an unlocked vehicle between 8 a.m. Dec. 10 and 7 a.m. Dec. 11. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Reported in the 2700 block of Rolling Green Place, Lower Macungie Township, an unknown actor entered and ransacked an unlocked vehicle and took the vehicle registration card between 1 p.m. Dec. 11 and 10 a.m. Dec. 13. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Terroristic Threats

Rigoberto Ruiz, 48, of Allentown, was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats after he allegedly threatened two people in the 4100 block of Driftwood Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 6:20 p.m. Dec. 11. Ruiz allegedly threatened to blow up a house while those threatened were in the house. Ruiz also allegedly pushed a 65-year-old Allentown woman at the residence. Ruiz was taken to Lehigh County Central Booking for arraignment. Bail was set at $7,500.

Criminal mischief

Reported in the 6400 block of Pioneer Drive, Lower Macungie Township, mailbox damaged between 10 p.m. Dec. 13 and 9 a.m. Dec. 14.

Phone scam

Reported by a resident in the 5500 block of Stonecroft Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 1:21 p.m. Dec. 4, an unknown actor called the resident and requested the resident pay money and threatened if the resident did not pay serious legal action and a visit by police to the resident's home would result. The incident is consistent with numerous phone scams occurring recently, according to police.
