During the meeting, four members of council will be sworn in. Council consists of eight seats, with each of the four wards represented by two seats.
Mayor Thomas D. Reenock is expected to administer the oath of office to the four council members, who will serve four-year terms on council.
They are Robert Coleman, first ward; Anthony Pristash, second ward; Robert McHale, third ward; and Anthony Lopsonszski Jr., fourth ward. All are incumbents.
Reenock, who was re-elected as mayor in the November election, will be administered the oath of office before the reorganization meeting by District Justice Diane Marakovits.
The only other business to take place at the reorganization meeting is the election of president and vice president of borough council. John Yurish currently serves as council president and McHale is vice president.
Borough Manager Gene Zarayko announced Dec. 19 the Jan. 2 meeting is canceled. The next regular meeting of council is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 16.
Council has been meeting on the first and third evenings of the month for many years, except in July and August when one session is scheduled for both those months.
