Alfred R. Roesch Jr.
Alfred R. Roesch Jr., 82, of New Tripoli, died Dec. 20, 2013, in his home.
He and his wife Mary T. (Devers) Roesch celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last Feb. 14.
Born July 11, 1931, in Geneva, N.Y., he was the son of the late Alfred R. Sr. and Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Roesch.
A 1949 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School, he earned his Master's degree in business administration in 1971 from Lehigh University.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War achieving the rank of sergeant.
He was a Purple Heart recipient.
He worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp., retiring as superintendent of the Press Forge Division in1992 after 36 years of service.
A charter member of the former Bethlehem Steel Club, he was a former member of the Silver Creek Country Club.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Mary E. Pavone of Fogelsville, Alfred R. III and wife, Nancy, of Lansdale, Diana M. Snyder and husband Glen of Mechanicsburg, Norman J. of New Tripoli, Neil J. of New Orleans, La., Dawn M. Walp and husband Scott of Saylorsburg, Ann M. Bacher at home, Richard E. and wife Mary of Orefield; sisters Mary Jane and husband Fred Wallitsch of Wheaton, Ill., Philomena B. and husband Paul Holler of Allentown, Jacqueline and husband Robert Zobb of Allentown, Kathleen A. and husband Robert Trexler of Center Valley; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings, Elizabeth Jagielski, and Francis and Charles J.
