Hawks ready for 46th Christmas City tournament

Fresh off their weekend performance at the Beast of the East tournament, Bethlehem Catholic will gear up for their third straight weekend of tournament action when the 46th annual Tony Iasiello Christmas City Wrestling Tournament takes place this Friday and Saturday at Bethlehem Catholic.

The Hawks are accustomed at walking away from their host tournament with ease over the years, but head coach Jeff Karam enjoys the opportunity to have a weekend at home after the holidays.

"You go through the first two weeks of the season at the King of the Mountain and then the Beast and it's tough," said Karam. "We always enjoy this opportunity to be at home and it gives our kids a chance to get better and work on different aspects of their game."

Wrestling starts at 10am Friday morning and goes straight through the quarterfinals and to the third round of consolations. Saturday's action entails the similar format, with semifinals starting up at 10am as well.
